System Composition
Fluorescent microscope
A fluorescent microscope is a variation of a light microscope that can admit light of a specific wavelength. It is used to study specimens that absorb light and emit fluorescence. These specimens are usually stained with fluorescent dyes.
Charge-coupled-device (CCD) camera
A charge-coupled-device (CCD) camera captures fluorescent images seen from the microscope. It is equipped with a chip to control the brightness and brilliance of the colors of the recorded images.
Imaging analysis software
Imaging analysis software obtains images captured by the CCD camera and saves them in the computer.
